A little painting to study color and loosen up my cluttered mind. I’m always undecided about what to work on next - too many ideas! One small triumph was completing this today. Still deciding what to call it and for now it will live on my husbands desk.
The Luberon in the South of France
I just returned from spending a month in the tiny town of Goult, France, which is located in the Luberon. I tend to travel without my usual supplies, with no agenda, and wait to see what happens. This year, again, it was collages. These were mostly inspired by nature, which is unusual for me. (After an afternoon stuck on the side of the road I had a lot of nature sketches.) I used found pieces of paper from the trash, the ground, old advertisements, tourist brochures, lottery tickets, or anything I could find for free. These were all done for fun and at the end of the summer I had an “opening” to show what I came up with.
Work in Progress
This painting started out as a collage of found scraps of paper in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It is still in progress as I consider the exact word I want to incorporate into the piece.
